A VERY SPECIAL DAY RETREAT FULL OF MINI CLASSES FEATURING ALL YOUR FAVOURITE TEACHERS
This event is a fundraiser and 100% of proceeds will go to families who have lost their homes or been directly effected in the NSW bushfires in the Milton / Conjola Park area.
We are very proud to offer you this very special mini-retreat featuring all of the amazing Yoga Vidya teachers as well catering provided from our favourite neighbour – Nina Cucina of Five Islands Studios. After watching the heart-aching devastation unfold over recent weeks/months we are pulling our amazing team together to offer a one day event to raise money for families who have been directly effected.
Our generous teachers did not hesitate when I put the call out to come together for a fundraiser and were quick to offer their time and services to put this inspiring event together for you our dear community. Get ready for a smorgasbord of yoga with each teacher offering a 45 minute session sharing the particular aspect or flavour of the tradition they are passionate about!
We have a wonderfully curated timetable of offerings ready for you with a midday intermission of light and nutritious food lovingly prepared by dear friend of everyone at Yoga Vidya, Nina Kourea.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Learn a little bit more about each of the sessions our wonderful teachers will be sharing with you on the day.
Kelly Ryan presents "Yoga Practice for Clarity & Vitality" | 10:10am - 10:55am
After leading us through a short opening circle – Kelly will guide us through the first practice of the day. A dynamic asana practice carefully put together using both breath and posture to bring a sense of focused calm, nourishment and grounded vitality to the system.
Our yoga practice can make us feel good – but when we begin to unravel the art of using our yoga practice to align with and target the specific qualities that we might need on any given day – then our yoga practice becomes a practice of mastery.
Kirsty Wright presents "How to Hack Your Nervous System" | 11:05am - 11:50am
A talk based workshop designed to introduce you to an important mechanism in your body, your nervous system. This system is designed to keep us safe but far too many of us are activating our stress response on a regular basis resulting in sometimes catastrophic outcomes.
In these times when there is so much devastation around it is good to understand how this system works in order to regulate ourselves and allow our system to truly rest.
A talk that promises to be educating and liberating!
Renee Dyson presents "Filling Your Cup" | 12pm - 12:45pm
Filling Your Cup In times of great stress and pressure, it can be all too effortless for us to forgo those activities and rituals which assist in keeping us in a state of tranquillity and vitality. Whilst it may seem counter-productive and even a little self-indulgent, to avoid emotional & mental depletion and physical exhaustion, we must first ‘fill our cup’.
We will be moving through a tender Restorative Yoga sequence and sound healing where we will be slowing down, loosening our grip and softly opening our bodies through passive stretching supported by the comfiest of props. A practice devoted to filling your cup so you can fill others.
Light Lunch: Nourishing Tasting Plate by Nina Cucina | 12:45pm - 1:30pm
We will be heading over to Five Islands Studios (directly across the road and upstairs from the studio) for a light lunch of nourishing delights lovingly prepared by Nina Cucina.
Nina Kourea is a passionate foodie and artist. She has cooked most of her life learning from her Yiayia (Greek nanna) and both her parents who ran food businesses for many years. She loves to invite people into her studio and treats everyone like family as she shares her knowledge and passion of food, teaching people simple skills to get inspired in the kitchen! Sarah Kobel presents "Create more Joy" a yoga flow & meditation practcie | 1:30pm - 2:15pm
This class is all about finding ways within our minds, bodies and hearts to soften, give thanks and open to joy. In a time where life has become very harsh within aspects of humanity, and our precious earth, we need to turn to each other, embrace our differences and share our strengths to find loving solutions.
‘Practicing gratitude invites joy into our lives’- Breńe Brown. Our class will start with a delicious flow of enquiry, then move into moments of stillness while holding poses and finish with a short gratitude meditation.
Shell Whitbread presents "Ignite your Inner Flame" a slow flow yin practice | 2:25pm - 3:10pm
Slow flow Yin A sequence designed to ignite your own inner flame through tapping into your internal nature of fire. How can we we make use of us this element as humans to create more passion and live in a more heart centred presence?
Connecting to the heart and small intestine energy pathways, this slow vinyasa sequence will be complimented with some longer held yin postures calling you inward to awaken to the glow of your own hearts calling.
