A COMPLETE RESTORATIVE PRACTICE

Sunday 14th July  2:30pm – 4:30pm

RELIEVE STRESS & TENSION IN THE BODY, ESTABLISH A NEW BASELINE OF RELAXATION FOR YOURSELF

Come along and experience two hours of Restorative Yoga bliss (in the Iyengar style) to start to experience a new baseline of relaxation in the body. Restorative yoga poses are held for longer periods than standard poses with the joints supported through the use of props such as blankets, blocks and bolsters. The idea is to really train the nervous system to relax and let go of deeply held tension. It is also a great preparation for meditation.

We will complete a sequence over the two hour workshop specifically designed to rejuvenate the body at times of high stress, at the beginning of the menstrual cycle or times of increased mental or physical fatigue. Whilst we have started to explore the benefits of Restorative poses every four weeks in the studio we still do not have the time to go through a complete sequence.

Restorative yoga is suitable for all levels and a great tool for many modern day stress conditions such as immune system deficiency, anxiety, depression, fatigue and tension of mind and body.

At the studio we strongly encourage you to attend this workshop and then bring the knowledge of this practice into your more dynamic classes at times when you need more rest. Still attend your usual class – but modify the practice by sitting out of some poses and setting yourself up in restorative poses to get the benefits of both the ambience and combined energy of the class with a practice that is more suited to what you need in that moment.
