This weekend has been carefully designed to help you get away from the busyness of life, throw away your to-do list and cultivate a sense of peaceful homecoming that fills you from the inside out.
Who is this weekend for?
Wether you are are new to yoga or an experienced practitioner our yoga and meditation retreat will be a satisfying getaway in the beautiful bush and beach surrounds of Bawley Point. This is the perfect opportunity to experience what yoga has to offer beyond the standard 1-1.5hr studio class with plenty of time to rest and digest the practices, teachings and beautiful food.
We know many of you often spends most of your time taking care of others due to work and family commitments. Our intention for you is to spend this retreat weekend dedicated to self-care, self-reflection and most importantly let someone else take care of the details (like the food) – so you can spend some quality time filling your cup!
Wether you have practiced with us at the studio before or not, our warm and welcoming community of yogis and teachers will help this feel just like a deliciously relaxing and restoring home away from home.
What will the yoga & meditation practices be like?
Friday evening we commence with a very easy going and accessible practice to prepare us for the rest of the weekend. After dinner we wind down from the week with a beautiful Yoga Nidra practice, ensuring a good nights sleep for all.
The mornings start with powerful yet accessible meditation techniques, with the option for a light snack, tea or coffee and/or shower before Yoga. An extended Hatha yoga practice each morning will give us plenty of time to play and workshop different aspects of the practice we don’t always get to explore in the studio.
Options for both beginners and experienced yogis will ensure the practice is accessible to all. The classes are gently paced and carefully sequenced to allow you to feel cared for and challenged simultaneously!
Our afternoons consist of a small philosophy talk with Kelly and Yin Yoga with the lovely Shell Whitbread. The Yin will provide the perfect conditions for you to digest our rich discussion of post lunch yoga philosophy.
Our practice space at Bawley Point is just the right combination of warm enclosed and cosy, and big windows for us to take in the beautiful bush surrounds. The room is heated to ensure we are practicing in comfort on the fresh (barely) Spring mornings and evenings of mid-September.
Tell me about the food!
For many, one of the biggest draw cards for going away on a weekend yoga retreat is having someone else lovingly prepare your food for you. Enjoy slowing down, preparing your body and mind to savour delicious vegetarian whole foods that will nurture and nourish your body from the inside out (and you don’t have to do a thing!).
Lina Mbirkou of Mindful Cooking will be your whole food chef for the duration of the weekend. Lina runs mindful cooking and eating workshops and events all over the Sydney area and passionately caters health and wellness retreats. She uses fresh, organic and colourful ingredients to prepare delicious, mouth-watering meals that satisfy on every level.
Her vibrant, gregarious and infectious personality means that the whole food experience becomes a delicious celebration of food and community. By the end of the retreat you will be wishing you could take Lina home with you!
