About Us

yoga vidya

Yoga Vidya is a bricks and mortar studio boutique studio in Wollongong, N.S.W., Australia (about an hour south of Sydney) founded by Kelly Ryan.

We believe the foundation of a healthy and rewarding yoga practice is good physical (and attitudinal) alignment, so students from all walks of life can practice safely and free from injury. 

Many of our teaches are trained in the Anusara method of Hatha Yoga, and the Universal Principals of Alignment. This unique system inspires an experience of strength, integrity and freedom when practicing yoga asana.

 

 

From that foundation we springboard into the deeper aspects of yoga. The science of tantra offers the subtle practices of pranayama, bhanda, mantra and meditation as a path to self-mastery.

Through the teachings of Sri Vidya & Para Yoga as taught by YogaRupa Rod Stryker, our teachers deliver practices for strength of body, fullness of breath & stability of mind.

Within our online studio expect to find:

  • Accessible beginners classes to introduce principals of alignment & develop single pointed concentration. 
  • More dynamic classes for expereinced yogis, introducing energetics of practice. 
  • Restorative & Yin Yoga to support the nervous system.
